emeraldECO goes above and beyond basic solar panel installation and incentives that almost all vendors are now offering. They professionally and proactively exceeded standard of care to ensure we were completely satisfied within a defined, reasonable budget.

We were very fortunate to meet them after interviewing many companies. We have a 3-bedroom home in the hills that we wanted to electrify, guard against future outages and decarbonize for health. This required an experienced and knowledgeable firm — as an early expert with their 10-year track record, emeraldEco has helped over 300 customers electrify their homes, many with full retrofits removing gas.

We were in emeraldECO’s good hands as they are an extraordinary, capable one-stop shop: calculating the holistic engineering (which included our appliances, hot water, HVAC, charging station and batteries) to optimize economics, managing the permits and inspections, installing the entire hardware and electrical system, integrating the software, applying and following through on permits, project managing the full supply chain of solar panels, batteries, electrical connectors and if needed appliances. Then coming back as needed on their own to fine tune everything and ensure we knew how to use our system properly!

We are completely thrilled with emeraldECO’s work as everything is running smoothly (with flying colors through a few storms and blackouts). They protected our budget treating it as it were their own money (not one change order) and delivered what they promised in a respectful, non-intrusive way.

emeraldECO have completed several major improvements to our house over the last 9 months, and we've been absolutely thrilled by both the results and the ease of the process.  Their work included:

- Installation of a new heat pump water heater (including non-trivial re-piping work since it replaced two smaller water heaters).
- Replacement of our old gas furnace with an electric heat pump (which also provides AC, which we did not have before).
- Installation of a rooftop solar system and battery storage (which can also provide backup power during an outage).

The end result is a more comfortable and energy efficient house, while also reducing our environmental impact.  Wins all around.

We got multiple quotes for each project and emeraldECO won each time because of their focus on giving us the *best* systems for our house.  The components they used were all high quality in terms of efficiency, reliability, capacity and noise (confirmed by my own extensive research); when I pushed other contractors with cheaper quotes to match that quality bar the price difference always disappeared.

I'm equally pleased with their workmanship.  Everything was installed precisely and cleanly.  Eric (a co-owner who also does much of the on-site work himself) even found and fixed a pre-existing issue with my electrical panel that a previous electrician had missed.

Diane (the other co-owner) provided excellent logistical support throughout the process - from an initial consultation over Zoom to discuss our goals for our house, to maximizing the rebates and tax credits that we received, to providing excellent communication and status updates throughout the entire process.

Finally, I was struck by the genuine passion and dedication that Eric, Diane and the rest of the emeraldECO team have for their work.  They care deeply about the positive environmental impact that electrification can provide, which translated directly into the thought and care that they put into our home improvements.  I would happily use their services again in the future.

 Great working with emerald ECO - awesome service, solar panels and Enphase backup battery system are great, and there can't be a better company out there for thinking through your specific needs and working with you to get exactly what you want.  Thoughtful, smart, and detail oriented.  Whole team is top level.
Think working with an engineer as opposed to a contractor.  The best!

 I am so happy we found emeraldECO and worked with Diane and Eric to do multiple projects at our home this year. They helped us from beginning to end to complete upgrades to our electrical panel, install an electric vehicle charger, replace our gas water heater with a heat pump water heater, designed and installed our rooftop solar and battery backup system. They were always organized, communicated very well, and partnered with us to share information about all the technology considerations during the design process. Additionally, they handled all the paperwork for permits and rebates and everyone who worked at our home was considerate, on time and cleaned up. We plan to work with emeraldECO on one last electrification project and have also recommended them to several neighbors!

We are so pleased with the improvements Eric recommended and implemented which have made our home both more comfortable and more energy efficient. The switch to LED bulbs throughout the house (especially in overhead cans) has resulted in better quality lighting and lower costs. The biggest win for us was moving/redesigning the heater air return from ceiling to floor level to create better air circulation -- which ultimately led to lower heating costs and happier/warmer home owners! Adding in a "smart" thermostat and turning us on to wifi-enabled switches for outdoor lighting (among other things) were other much-appreciated improvements. Overall, Eric is incredibly thoughtful with his recommendations and is committed to making sure the job is done right every time.

Eric has been a key consultant when it comes to Green building requirements for our projects. We have successfully worked with Eric and currently working on several dozen projects in and around the Bay area.

Eric has the most current and up to date knowledge of CalGreen, GreenPoint rating system and how buildings use energy. Eric has helped us address challenges faced by projects of various nature by outlining solutions required for energy efficiency, waste reduction, storm water pollution prevention practices, indoor air quality standards, and other environmental initiatives for both new construction and existing buildings.

Eric not only works closely with our Architecture team and contractors but he is very comfortable working with our clients as well. Our clients have nothing but great things to say about his charming personality and most up to date knowledge of building standards proposed by the state agencies.

Always prompt on his response and deliverables, we highly recommend Eric for Architects, builders and home owners looking for a seasoned professional for their upcoming projects!

 Eric is on-time, and on top of the services he will provide you. Along the way he will be very helpful in helping you select the items you need to meet the green requirement you are looking for. We needed our final inspection a few days after he came out to do his walk through, which requires green points documents turned in. He put the documents together and had them mailed to us in two days to make it at my office in time for final. Thanks Eric! Would highly recommend him to anyone looking for any green services, advising, rating, for your own knowledge. He will help get you to where you need to be. Without him, your not going too far !!

 As a landscape architect working on the renovation of two apt. complexes in Palo Alto, I was asked by the city to obtain a green building special inspector to oversee our installation. Eric's company was on their recommended list. Of the companies I called he was the only one to answer the phone, which I appreciated. I described our needs and reviewed our projects with him. He determined that a special inspector was not required for this type of installation. Though I had not yet hired him as a consultant, he provided me with a lot of information on the green building process, which can be complex. He was helpful and engaged, and stayed with me until all questions were answered. Had we needed a special inspector I definitely would have hired him.
